Our Fold

Hello gentle critter who managed to make your way to my humble blog space!

Today I come to you all with a band from the UK that everyone who likes brit-pop/alternative rock should check out.

This is very underestimated band and they deserve much more acclaim in Europe!!

They are playing at Hove Festival in Norway on June 30th, so for anyone planning to go to said festival go see them live. They are an amazing live band!

Roskilde 2010

With the release of their poster and about 60 new bands this years Roskilde festival is shaping up to be one hell of a festival. With headliners including Muse, Them Crooked Vultures, Gorillaz and The Prodigy the party starts at the top and continues further down to include bands like Sick Of It All, Nile, NOFX, Pavement, Dirty Projectors, Kings Of Convenience and Pendulum. This years 40th anniversary is sure to be memorable.

Complete line-up so far, still about 20-25 bands left to announce!

GORILLAZ (UK)
JACK JOHNSON (US)
MUSE (UK)
NEPHEW (DK)
THE PRODIGY (UK)

The Hurricane is coming!

Everyone has heard of Wacken Open Air and Rock Im Park but surpringsly few has heard of one of Germany's largest festivals, Hurricane festival. This year they have rounded up the best of the best in alternative and indie rock with some electro and metal acts here and there. Headlined by the mighty The Strokes this years bill is stronger then ever and for a mere 120 euros it's actually cheaper than Rock Im Park and the same price as Wacken (Which is sold out).

Festivals, only 1 more

Yeah, so I'm a little sick of waiting and very eager to see what Roskilde has in their christmas sack this year. I'll only go to one more festival this year (Arvika is the first one) and the choice is between Roskilde, Hurricane Festival and Rock Werchter. All have superb line-ups so far but Rock Werchter is currently leading the pack. It all comes down to two things. 1) What is coming to Roskilde? and 2) Will I see The Strokes in Sydney in the end of July? If the answer to question two is no, then Hurricane might jump out in front right at the finish line!

Arvika two years in a row!

Earlier this week I bought my ticket to Arvikafestival 2010. This year I didn't buy because of huge headliners (like I did last year), this year I bought because I had an awesome time at Arvika last year, seeing a lot of amazing live acts, eating good food, meeting new people and in short just having a good time, I believe Arvika can deliver this without massive headliners. Plus it's not like this years line-up is bad. The metal side of me is satisfied with In Flames, Volbeat, Hypocrisy and Wolf, just to mention a few.

Short intro

Well hello all you people out there in the world and welcome to my humble blog space at festivalinfo.se. This is my very first blog at festivalinfo.se and to make it even more memorable this is my very first blog. I am currently residing in Australia, the land down under, and that is why I am writting in English, simply because it is such a hassle to write in my native language, which is Norwegian.
