Most people tend to think of Icelandic music as something that’s ridiculously alternative, extremely challenging for the listener and definitely not build to ignite dance floors. Well, FM Belfast is here to destroy that image. As I experienced first hand at last year’s Airwaves Festival, Reykjavik also has a vibrant and energetic music scene, that’s turning down the larger-than-life feelings and instead focusing their energy on getting people to dance happy-go-lucky-style in nothing but their underwear. FM Belfast is a bow-tie wearing electro-pop trio from hippest part of Reykjavik who provides the perfect soundtrack to the feeling of wanting to break out of small-town boredom. As they sing on 'Underwear’ -“We come from a place where we count down the days / Until nothing, until nothing, until nothing.”
